Last year for Easter Willa was only 6 weeks old. While I loved the idea of putting together an Easter basket for her, there wasn’t much to give her. We gave her a few pacifiers, a couple of toys, and Ben had made her a couple of wooden bunnies. It was simple but still fun. This year I’ve been searching for some fun ideas. I like the idea of mixing it up and getting her some practical things that we’d already be buying her anyways and getting her some fun little toys that we typically wouldn’t just get.
Some of Willa’s Easter basket from last year: bandana bibs, princess peg dolls, stacking cups, pacifier clip, bows pouch. (Ben made the bunnies, and the stroller beads are no longer available unfortunately.)
Some of my ideas and links are specific to her age and gender (she’ll be 13 months at Easter), but most of these ideas you can tweak to fit your kids perfectly!
Mushie Stacking Cups + Rings
We actually already have the Mushie stacking cups and rings, but Willa loves them so much that I had to recommend them! She doesn’t have the coordination yet to be able to stack everything correctly, but that doesn’t stop her from playing with them. We have the “original” color in both the cups and rings, but there are other pretty colors to choose from.
Swimsuit
I saw this idea in a few mom groups I’m in and thought it was such a good idea! We spend a lot of time at the lake during the summer and I’m hoping to get a little pool of some sort for this summer. We’re already going to need a swimsuit, so why not add it to her basket?! The one I bought her is out of stock, but I found some other ones that I thought were cute. I could honestly buy her a swimsuit for every day in a month. I’m not sure why swimsuits are so fun to buy for her?!
Rainboots
This is one idea that I want to do so badly, but Willa has such small feet that there are no rainboots in her size. At (almost) 1 year old her shoes are size 6 months. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to get her some rainboots next year! I had too much fun looking at rainboots for toddlers, so even though Willa won’t be able to wear any, maybe you’re little one will fit into a pair.
Books
We love books at our house and we’re always adding more to our collection. I like to rotate which books we have set out, and changing them out with different holidays and seasons are perfect. I found some cute Easter books that I plan on adding to our collection.
Slumberkins Snuggler
I have been eyeing up Slumberkins for months. They are so cute and I love the stories that they come with. Each one has a “lesson” that comes with it, which I think is really cool. Gratitude, self-esteem, emotional courage, and grief are a few of the themes. On their website they have Slumberkins School that has free resources and activities that go along with each snuggler. I want to get Willa the honey bear but I’m having a hard time picking out which color! They are both so adorable.
In addition to the fun things above, we will probably add a few of her favorite snacks into her basket. I think we might put a few snack items (like the yogurt bites she loves) into Easter eggs and maybe do a little egg hunt around our house!
Now that we have basket ideas, we need an actual basket! There are so many options to choose from. You could go with a traditional Easter basket, or you could find a basket you like from a home decor section of a store and use that. I’ve linked a few options that I really like.
Have you started working on Easter baskets? What are you excited to give your little ones this year? Any ideas from past years that were a big hit? I’d love to hear!
