We started homeschooling my oldest this past fall, she’s in her first year of preschool. I didn’t want to go super heavy on school, so one of the main things we do each school day is her Morning Menu. She LOVES this! Doing this + her pre-handwriting book has been my main focus this school year.
So what’s in her morning menu? It’s always changing! When we first started doing the morning menu, I kept it very light. I had only put a few pages in because at the beginning it can be overwhelming for little ones to all of the sudden have a huge folder of activities. After a handful of months it feels like I could never have enough pages in it! She just loves doing her morning menu.
In my Etsy shop, I have what I call my starter pack morning menu. This has the “basics” of activities for her to do. There’s things like circling what the weather is, how you feel (she thinks it’s hilarious to circle that she’s mad or sad even though she’s definitely not), tracing shapes, etc. It includes 14 pages that can be used however works best for your child. Each starter pack also includes several generic covers to use. If you are wanting a personalized cover (which also includes a name tracing sheet), I have that available too!
Next, I have the theme packs. Currently these include Garden, Farm, Fall, and Christmas. I’m hoping to continue to add more over time! With the theme packs, I add those in as it fits to what we’re working on.
Why is it called a morning menu?! I’ve seen many people in the homeschool community use actual restaurant menus. This is a great option, but I wanted something a little bit cheaper that I can also personalize a bit more. I bought a pack of folders that have the prongs on the inside to be able to fit plastic sleeves. By using the plastic sleeves, I am able to use as many inserts that I want. It really is perfect for customizing each folder for what your child is needing. I highly recommend the folders that we have. They have held up great and I love that there’s a clear front pocket to put the cover into (this is really nice if you have multiple children using the morning menus).
*I shared the link to the folders that we use. Just know that if you switch to a different color option, those don’t come with a front pocket!
All of the products in my Etsy shop are digital downloads. This means you purchase the item once, then you can print them off as many times as you’d like. I know I personally love digital download resources because then I can buy the item once and use it over and over again with each of my children.
If you’re interested in some of my favorite homeschool resources, I have a page dedicated to that on my Amazon Storefront!
