A few years ago I found this Elves and Angels toy kitchen on marketplace for FREE. If you know anything about this brand, you know that these are definitely more expensive for toy kitchens (because they are great quality). It was in rough condition, but I saw the potential in what this could be. I immediately went to pick this up and was so excited at what we would be able to turn this into.
The only thing that we did with the kitchen immediately was take off one of the cabinet doors. I don’t have a picture of this, but the wood was broken all the way down to the hinges, so it wasn’t safe or useful. Ben took that off and then this sat for about two years. We’ve been talking about what we were going to do with this and one day I finally got a vision for it and we started working on it!
A lot of time went into this project. Ben sanded it all down. He took out the rounded screw covers and filled those in so it was flat. I took forever to decide on a paint color but finally found THIS one and it’s perfect!
Ben ended up making new cabinet doors and he did so good! I was so nervous they would look like they weren’t original to the kitchen, but he nailed it. For the oven door, he made a cut out and added a piece of acrylic. We painted it and added FOUR coats of polyacrylic (I didn’t want to take any chances of this chipping!)
I’m so happy with how this turned out. Willa already plays with it a ton. Her personal favorite thing is to open the oven door and stand on it to reach the shelves.
